I’m Richard Peppard, your Libertarian Party candidate for Kooyong in this crucial federal election. I’ve been a resident of Kooyong for over 20 years and went to school here. I work as a neurologist in private practice both here and in remote areas across the state. Though a small business man, I have also worked in the public hospital system for over 40 years.
I’m neither a climate scientist, nor an engineer, nor an economist but I have a doctorate in a scientific discipline, a keen interest in climate science for decades, and the common sense that would be required to keep our electricity prices lower, encourage our manufacturing industries and to protect our nation’s security.
I am a conservative by nature, an unashamed patriot, anti-woke, a singer in my parish choir. I’m a libertarian by conviction - tolerance is the best route to allow us to follow our lives by our own lights. But tolerance must be balanced by a demand for civic cohesion.
Our Libertarian Party sticks to its principles, supporting classical liberalism that has given so many nations, west and east, success. Other parties swerve. We don’t pork-barrel, returning your own money to you, on your credit card and expect you to be grateful. We are the real thing for your freedom and success.
